I just decided
that when I get married, I want to write my own vows. Before, I was like “the original ones will do”, but now, I don’t know if they will adequately describe my love. I might use some of the lines, but I really want it to come from the heart, I want everybody to know the full extent of what he means to me, and how much I love him.

That does seem uber awks. He seems like an awesome guy though. Have you talked with your mutual acquaintance? And pray about it tons. God should show you what He wants for you. In my opinion, the best relationships are founded on friendships.
